I am Maico, a 26-year-old sports enthousiast from Breda, Netherlands. From a young age, I discovered a passion for tennis and have been dedicated to the sport ever since starting at the age of 7. I've honed my skills through years of dedication and hard work, becoming an experienced player. My experience includes playing college tennis in the USA, reached a high national ranking in The Netherlands, and played several ITF Future events. I've trained at some of the best academies in the Netherlands and hold two coaching degrees (TL-A & TT-B) from the Royal Dutch Tennis Association (KNLTB).
After obtaining my B.B.A Sport management and a minor in leadership at McKendree University, I decided to come back to The Netherlands. Here I played full time tennis for about 3 years. These years had a lot of challenges and obstacles to overcome and were filled with life lessons. Unfortunately, due to personal and financial reasons I was no longer able to play full time. Although this was a huge disappointment it also opened the door to a ton of new possibilities. Currently I am focusing on developing as a coach so that I can share my knowledge and passion for the sport with as many people as possible.
MaicoSport, the business, started out as a business alongside my aspiring professional tennis career. This was mainly teaching tennis and stringing rackets. But through the years the business kept growing and still is growing and diversifying.
The business is developing into a total package for every player. Tennis should be accessible to all, and I want to make sure that as much people as possible get the opportunity to play and enjoy their playing experience. Whether you need training as a beginning player, want new equipment or your equipment fixed, or need a traveling/personal coach, MaicoSport can help you!
I think sport is a unique and one of the most beautiful things in the world. Sport has taught me life lessons, given me career opportunities, helped me meet amazing people, and helped me to develop into the person that I am today. I am truly grateful for this, and I want to help people to find their path through sport.
